Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day#55

Ambassador’s Note: Reminder that this week my lyrics will come from “Reasonable Doubt,” Jay-Z’s first album circa 1996

“GRANTED 9 TO 5 IS HOW YOU SURVIVE, I AIN’T TRYING TO SURVIVE, I’M TRYIN’ TO LIVE IT TO THE LIMIT AND LOVE IT A LOT.”~JAY-Z(D’EVILS)

How you doin?
“I’m surviving.” We were put on this planet to do much more than just survive (my humble opinion). I’ve graduated from responding to, “how you doin?” with “surviving” to “Not to bad.” The truth is when I catch myself saying that, I say, “self, you know you are doing better than that.” Not to mention, what we recite is what we can expect in our lives (hence, the whole point of affirmations). The deeper truth is that I sometimes say, “Not to bad” or “i’m alright” so I don’t offend the grouchy people. Now that is not Running the Point. Moving forward, “I’m living and loving it a lot!” You can do the same. Who’s coming with me?

In honor of our hip hop affirmation today, let’s go from, “surviving,” to “loving it a lot.” Just give it a try and see how it changes your mood and perspective.

Affirmation of the Day: I live it to the limit and love it a lot

Question of the Day: What would happen if you changed the way you thought, “you were doin?”

Action of the Day: Use “I’m living and loving it a lot” the next time someone ask you, “How you doin?”

Run the Point; from where you are, with what you have!

Mike Bruny
