Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day#25:
“I WORK LIKE A SLAVE TO BECOME A MASTER”-Big Daddy Kane(Raw)

My theme for 2010 is, “Got to be there.” Why? Because great things happen when you show up. It may not be 100% clear why you should be at the meeting or network with a particular individual, but you never know what could have happened, if you stay home. I don’t work alone so any opportunities I know about, I will share.
This addition of Hip Hop Affirmation comes to you live for Logan Airport in Boston, MA. I’m on my way to the Entrepreneur Magazine Growth Conference in Miami, FL. I am looking forward to taking in the latest information on branding, social networking and start-up companies. I’m also looking forward to networking and introducing more people to Run the Point Enterprises and the value we bring to young professionals.
There really are no shortcuts. I love the idea of the overnight success. I don’t remember who said it, but I recall hearing, “It only took me 10 years to become an overnight success.” I speak as an insider who has been working legally since I was 14. I did not want my parents shelling out money for me so I decided to make my own. I even created a notebook entitled, “Ways to Make Money.” I would use my notebook to capture any ideas that I observed as well as brainstorm ideas in my spare time. In that notebook you’ll find everything from owning vending machines to painting houses. I’ve actually put some of those ideas to the test. Let me tell you, the ideas sounded much easier than the actual execution. I’ve done everything from putting flyers door to door, working in a spice shop, I even gave Multi-Level Marketing a go (the best personal development environment that I have seen and credit much of my passion for personal develop to my time in MLM) and tried serving as a company focused on providing data-entry for busy small businesses.
In all the cases I have listed above, the one common theme is that they all sounded so easy at first and it would only take a copy of hours a week to be successful….or so I thought. In the end it takes time and effort to be truly successful. I share this with you to say, focus on what you are passionate about and put in the work to become a master.
