Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day#22:
“WE WRITE SONGS ABOUT WRONG CAUSE IT’S HARD TO SEE RIGHT.”-Common(The Corner)

Is there another side? We only know what we see or what we’ve heard; but is there more to it?

Growing up my view was only as big as the Flatbush Brooklyn block I grew up on (Hawthorne Street). I was living on half truth and skewed opinions–mostly skewed toward limitations and negativity. Don’t get me wrong, I believe everyone has a skewed opinion, but I’d rather take the one that is skewed on the side of the positive.

It wasn’t until I worked at the Black Enterprise Golf and Tennis Challenge and their Ski Challenge that I was exposed to a whole different level of affluent Black people. I don’t necessarily believe it’s about race, but seeing people who look like you doing things you did not think possible is pretty powerful and can have a lasting impact. I know it did for me.

Affirmation of the Day: I am open to being exposed to bigger and better things

Question of the Day: As you look around you, what do you see as right?

Action of the Day: This weekend take the time to jot down the things that are going right in your life? Think BIG and small.

Run the Point; from where you are, with what you have!
