Woke up at 4:30a with plans for Valentine’s baking, a video to make and a podcast to edit. All before 9a church.
I got the baked goods in the oven, was in video creation planning and BAM! Emerson decides I should change my plans.
I change his diaper, give him milk and then ask him if he wants to go lay down in bed with mom or come downstairs (“please choose the bed, please choose the bed.”). He chose to come downstairs.
So here I type as he sleeps on my chest (he is still fighting not feeling so hot). A couple of things came to mind in this tender moment:
1. Foundation, Exposure and Discipline: for some reason those are the things that came to mind as I held my little one. Those are the things I can provide that will have the most lasting impact…I think.
2. The Internet of things: as Emerson lays on my chest there is something baking (I won’t said what it is just in case my wife reads this before coming downstairs) and it has about 30 minutes to go before the timer starts singing. I need a remote for my oven that not only shuts it off but also has a cooling feature so it doesn’t continue to “cook,” although turned off. Makes sense? Now go make that happen. I’m sure Emeeson will still be sleeping here by the time you figure it out.
Alright my arms are getting tired.
Have an awesome Valentine’s Day. What’s on your agenda today?
