Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day:
“AND THERE ARE MUCH BIGGER ISSUES IN THE WORLD, I KNOW, BUT I FIRST HAD TO TAKE CARE OF THE WORLD I KNOW.” ~Jay-Z(kingdom come)

So what are you gonna do? Ever have that feeling that you wanted to do something, you wanted to make a difference, you wanted to help out….but did not know how? Some may be going through that feeling right now as they look at the tragic earthquake that took place yesterday in the homeland of my parents, which makes it my homeland too. I’m talking about Haiti. I hope the information below inspires you to do a little bit more.

THE WAKE UP CALL:
As I sat at a dinner meeting last night, I received a text from a friend sending me prayers and hoping my family in Haiti was okay. I took it as a generic message so I didn’t pay much attention to it. On my way home from my meeting I received a call from another friend who made me aware that an earthquake hit the capital of Haiti.

FIND OUT WHAT’S GOING ON AND DO SOMETHING
:
I got home and quickly turned on CNN to see all the graphic pictures and all that was going through my mind was, “What can I do?, What can I do?” I followed their instructions and sent $5 via text to the Yele Haiti foundation (run by Wyclef Jean–the singer/rapper originally with the Fugees).

FIGURE OUT A WAY TO DO MORE:
That was not enough! I decided to send out a message on Facebook and twitter letting folks know that I will be donating 50% of all sales made from my book and audio book to Yele Haiti. That was my way of stepping up. There’s still an opportunity to do more. I encourage you to help however you can.
