Affirmation of the Day: Today I listen to what is my heart and I act on it.
This lyric is more than appropriate after celebrating the Boston Launch Party for Ethnic Online Magazine (www.ethniconline.net) at the W Hotel. There were all kinds of great people at this event, celebrating ethnic professionals in New England. This is the second launch party so far with the first being in Rhode Island. So what’s the big deal?
The big deal is that I am a senior contributing writer for this quarterly magazine (Ethnic Online). The same guy who on the last day of college swore he would never write another paper is now a writer. At that time in my life I thought I hated writing. The truth was that I hated to write what they wanted. When I found something I was passionate about sharing, I began to work my way through the bumps and bruises of writing. I began by writing an article for a friend’s company and then moved on to my own blog, then my own book and now writing for others. I love to motivate, educate and inspire and that is why I write. My heart told me that people need to learn the lessons I have to share. I’m glad I didn’t ignore it; aren’t you?
