Affirmation of the Day: All things are possible and available to me and for me

Yesterday my wife and I took a trip to Martha’s Vineyard in celebration of our wedding anniversary.  We took the trip and met up with friends who had rented a house on the island.  It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving to get to Cape Cod and the place where our Ferry would be leaving for Martha’s Vineyard.  It took us another 45 minutes for the ride on the Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.  A total one-way travel time of 2hrs and 15 minutes.

Until that day Martha’s Vineyard felt very inaccessible.  It felt like something that would take a herculean effort to make happen and to enjoy.  This was both in how far it seemed in miles and in mental space.  I had a vision that Martha’s Vineyard was only for the rich and famous (sure, I’m on my way to both, but I’m on there yet)–I was wrong.  For the 4 hours plus of round-trip travel time to get there and back we got 10 times more fun and relaxation in return.  Just being on the ferry gave us the feeling of getting away from the day-to-day that tends to bog us down.  We were able to have a great brunch at a restaurant called Biscuits, hang out with friends, site see and spend some time on the beach.  I even ran into an old Junior High School friend who I hadn’t seen in years.  Over all a great trip and well worth overcoming the perceived effort it would take to make it happen.

I learned that Martha’s Vineyard is accessible, it’s close by and it’s for me!

Question of the Day: What are you not taking advantage of that is just so close to you?

Action of the Day: Do that thing that feels out of reach to you.

Run the Point from where you are, with what you have!
