Happy First Day of Summer! The summer has always been a long-anticipated part of the year for me. Whether it was so I could take my annual trip to hang out with my cousin Regis in Montreal, Canada or just hanging out in front of my building in Brooklyn, NY until the wee hours of the night; the summertime seemed to represent a sense of freedom. It was freedom from school and freedom from the cold. Being an adult the summer just doesn’t feel the same. You have things to tend to no matter what the season. The great thing is we can leverage the summer as an excuse to take a vacation, a trip to the beach or just to take off our shoes and walk around barefoot. Many of my friends fill their summer break with as many plans as possible, so that they have an excuse to not think about anything else. I wish that this was the same for everyone. It would be like one huge playtime for adults, especially if you took a vacation to a place that you’ve never been to before. Actually, my friend has just jetted off to Antigua and is planning on staying in a villa that you can find from somewhere like Exceptional Villas (more info here) so he has the opportunity to really enjoy this downtime. I can’t help but wish that this was me, but luckily, I have other plans to get my teeth stuck into. Maybe I’ll go there one day! I would love to write more, but it’s the summertime, I’m out of here. I’m hitting up L.A. this weekend, “Later dude.”
