Affirmation of the Day: I appreciate the work of fathers and do my part to help groom future leaders

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! I always looked at my dad as superman (R.I.P) and will never forget the first time I saw him cry.  We went to see the movie, “Malcolm X” by Spike Lee and at the end of the movie, I looked over and saw my dad crying.  I was puzzled at first as my small mind could not grasp what was going on.  It wasn’t until later that I found out the reason he was crying was because of the loss of a great man (Malcolm X) at the hands of his own people.  My dad’s tears did not push me away from the superman image, but actually pulled me closer as I saw his humanity.

If you are a dad who is handling your business, “Thank you.”  If you are a dad, but are not taking care of your responsibility, please note that you are not much different from the folks who took down Malcolm X.  You are robbing the world of the great person that can only be made with your nurturing.  The good news is that it’s not too late to do the right thing.

Question of the Day: Who is the dad that you need to acknowledge?

Action of the Day: Send a thank you note to a dad (it’s a nice surprise after Father’s day)

Run the point from where you are, with what you have!
