Black History / President’s Day

Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day#46
“ROSA PARKS SAT, SO MARTIN LUTHER COULD WALK, MARTIN LUTHER WALKED SO BARACK OBAMA COULD RUN, BARACK OBAMA RAN SO ALL THE CHILDREN COULD FLY. I’M A SPREAD MY WINGS, YOU CAN MEET ME IN THE SKY.”-Jay-Z(My president’s Black;Remix)

Mixing a bit of Black History with President’s Day for you.

Regardless of how you feel about our current president, history has been made. More important than the novelty of being, “the first,” is the impact it has on so many. There are the people who truly believe, for the first time in their lives, that anything is possible for them and their kids. The phrase, “You can be president,” moved from sheer speech to something that felt within reach (didn’t know I could rhyme, did ya). Even greater than that are the folks who will strive to be president and fall short and land as top doctors, lawyers, politicians or whatever their heart desires. They are no longer afraid to lead!

You cannot underestimate the power of seeing someone who looks like you or has a similar background achieving great heights. The only question I have for you is, “Given the information above, what are YOU going to do?” I waiting for you to “run the point.”

Affirmation of the Day:
I am inspired by history, while making my own

Question of the Day: What are you inspired to do?

Action of the Day: Find what you are inspired to do and write it somewhere you can see everyday.

Run the Point; from where you are, with what you have!

Your Ambassador,
Mike Bruny
