The video above is a copy of the 2 minute speech I gave at WDS (World Domination Summit) in Portland, OR.  People seem to like it, so I decided to recreate it (I’ll find out if I can get the actual talk.  Ain’t nothing like the real thing baby).

The above video was recorded by my homie Abe Cajudo the day after WDS.  Thanks Abe!

Here is a transcript:

“There are much bigger issues in the world; I know, but I first had to take care of the world I know.

The Brooklyn Skyhawks Youth Football Program is where I got my start.  It’s where I learned, ‘hard work, discipline and self-confidence.’ Fast Forward>>

A few years ago I got 2 letters in the mail; one from my undergrad and one from my graduate school.  Let’s just say they weren’t reaching out to see how I was doing.  They were asking for money?  That’s fine, but I realized that some of the institutions that I care about the most, can’t necessarily afford to reach out and ask for money. Like, the Brooklyn Skyhawks; where I learned, ‘hard work, discipline and self-confidence.’  An idea was born, ‘what if I gave back and started where I started.’

Fast forward to WDS 2011 where I wore a different bow tie everyday.  Someone came up to me (Wes from the media team) and suggested I check out for bow ties.  I checked her out and she checked me out.  She saw I was true to the bow tie brand and we decided that we should do something together one day.

I stand before you proud to say that as of July 5 we launched our first bow tie collection called, “The Bow Tie Flow.”  100% of the bow ties are made from clothes that I owned and 20% of the proceeds go to the Brooklyn Skyhawks, where I learned, ‘hard work, discipline and self-confidence.”

I’m Mike Ambassador Bruny; this is my bow tie and I’m giving back, starting where I started.

There are much bigger issues in the world…I know, but I first had to take care of the world I know. [Insert Applause] 🙂

Quote: “There are much bigger issues in the world; I know, but I first had to take care of the world I know” is from Jay-Z song: “Kingdom Come”

Keep an eye out for my post on giving you the behind the scenes detail on what it took for me to get a 2 minute spot at WDS and my process for delivering the way I did.

As always my goal is to help you Run The Point (Take Action) from where you are, with what you have.

Your Ambassador,

Mike Bruny

I have a deep desire to help spread entrepreneurial thinking as the solutions to many of our problems today. I am a project kind of guy who loves to get things started. When I'm not in search of contract work (projects) that I can do during the nights and weekends I can be found working as a mild mannered Digital Content Manager for Babson Executive Education.

What do ya think?

My pleasure Suki :). I can’t wait to post the real one.

    • […] Just in case you don’t know about the bow tie flow movement where I’m helping to sponsor one young man to play youth football for the Brooklyn Skyhawks (It’s where I first got my start and learned, hard work, discipline and self-confidence) through the sales of bow ties, I’m letting you know now.  You can see my video that helps to break it down HERE.
